Dominic Cudmore is not just the Principal of Hart Legal – he is a seasoned legal expert with a diversified portfolio, a passionate educator and a committed community advocate.

With extensive experience across a multitude of sectors – ranging from SMEs, corporate enterprises, NFP organisations to public sector employers – Dominic has established himself as a leading adviser in the legal community.

Hart Legal

Since February 2014, Dominic has led Hart Legal as its Principal. The firm has become a reliable resource for high-quality advisory and legal services in areas such as:

  • Company secretary responsibilities
  • Investigations involving workplace issues and child protection
  • Mediation and conflict resolution
  • Policy advice and resources
  • Governance advice and training

 

About Dominic

Academic

Engagements

Beyond his role at Hart Legal, Dominic has been a dedicated educator. He has been a Law Lecturer and Oral Assessor at The College of Law since January 2021, focusing on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Civil Litigation, Property Law, and several other legal disciplines. Dominic has also been a Law Lecturer and Tutor at the Thomas More Law School since 2014, covering a wide range of legal subjects.

Corporate Training and

Consultancy

Dominic has also served as a Corporate Trainer at the Centre for Community Welfare Training and as a Consultant at ESPC Services Pty Ltd. His work in these capacities has been instrumental in building competencies in child protection, misconduct and professional standards.

Credentials and

Expertise

Dominic holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law Australia. He has completed a Graduate Certificate in Employment Relations from the University of Technology Sydney Business School, among other specialised qualifications.

He brings a rich skill set to his work, including:

  • Employment law and not-for-profit law expertise
  • Governance and organisational development

Memberships and Honours

Dominic is a member of several legal bodies, including the Law Society of New South Wales and the French Australian Lawyers Society. He has also received numerous awards for his excellence in legal practice and education.

Language Proficiency

Dominic is also a regular translator of legal documentation (French to English) with the Milan-based Lawlinguists legal translation network.

Interests

In his leisure time, Dominic indulges in his interests in history, languages, human rights, design, architecture, performing arts and travel.
